Purpuse – The aim of the study is to attempt to answer the question about the participation of Lithuania and Poland in cooperation in the area of sustainable energy management, both in the context of all European Union Member States and regional cooperation, i.e. in the region of Member States from Central and Eastern Europe. The study concerns the diagnosis of progress in the implementation of energy and climate policy goals, observed changes in the scope of access to cheap, safe and environmentally friendly energy, and challenges and prospects related to energy transformation.
Methodology – The study used an analysis of selected indicators concerning SDG 7 - "Affordable and clean energy" and SDG 13 - "Climate action" for the period 2000-2020 and used the literature on the subject, EU program documents, legal regulations and statistical data, in particular Eurostat.
Findings – As a result of the study, changes in the national energy mixes of Lithuania and Poland towards a low-emission economy were identified, and the developing cooperation between the countries in the development of electricity and gas infrastructure, strengthening their energy security, was indicated.
