The article is devoted to the issue of contemporary multicultural challenges faced by pro- bation officers. Due to the growing foreigners inflows to Poland and the increasing number of crimes they commit, the judicature must face an increasing number of cases in which the perpe- trator or the victim is a representative of another culture. These types of situations require repre- sentatives of the judiciary, including probation officers, to have adequate cultural preparation. The authors put forward the thesis that at present the level of this preparation is insufficient. This is a pressing problem that should become the object of in-depth studies and analyzes.
