This publication is a review essay and refers to the Polish translation of Paul Tillich’s book, Theology of Culture, published in 2020. The essay is an attempt to place this book of the German thinker in the broader context of his work. The author of the essay claims that Theology of Culture is a kind of summary of Tillich’s thinking about the presence of religion in the contemporary secularized world. For the German theologian, religion is such a dimension of the human spirit that permeates all other dimensions; it manifests itself in all areas of human cultural activity. It is the source of every human cultural activity, it is at the root of every manifestation of the human spirit.
