Zaburzenia ze spektrum autyzmu (autism spectrum disorders, ASD) obecnie diagnozowane są coraz częściej. Niezależnie od przyczyn wyjaśniających dane zjawisko zagadnienie to dotyczy coraz większej liczby rodzin. Ostatnie dekady przyniosły imponujący wzrost liczby badań obejmujących liczne wątki tematyczne w tym dotyczące rodzicielstwa a ich wyniki wskazują, że skutki posiadania dziecka z ASD podobnie jak samo zaburzenie są wieloaspektowe, złożone i obciążające, wpływając na wszystkie obszary funkcjonowania rodziców i rodziny. Na tle ogólnej liczby badań nad rodzicielstwem niewiele jest tych, które podmiotem swoich dociekań uczyniły ojców dzieci z ASD. Artykuł przedstawia przegląd wyników badań skoncentrowanych na doświadczeniach rodziców w tym na doświadczeniach ojców.
