Abstract

The article presents the issues related to the recognition of the occupational therapist as a professional. In the presented text, two methods of data collection were used: searching secondary sources and a survey. Compilation of research methods strengthened the veracity of the data, and also contributed to the feedback in creating a richer knowledge about the researched issues. The narrative begins with the thorough analysis of material from secondary sources (Polish and foreign scientific publications) in order to search the content scope of the professional’s role. The analysis was complemented by the results of the survey. Respondents’ references to ten statements regarding aspects of professional activity. Professional activity was treated as a space providing the opportunity to examine the professionalism of occupational therapists.
