Students with disabilities in Ukrainian higher educational institutions

Abstract

A topic about the education of disabled students in Ukrainian higher educational institutions is considered in the review and theoretical article. Based on Ukrainian pedagogical literature, the concepts of „integration”, „inclusion” and „inclusive educational environment” are revealed. Inclusive higher education in Ukraine is considered as a system of educational services with special and inclusive education elements association. The author covers experience about educating disabled students in Open International University of Human Development „Ukraine” (Kyiv), as well as raises the question of how to deal with young people with disabilities in terms of an inclusive educational environment. Also, in the article, the form of assistance is described for students with disabilities, which is used in some Ukrainian universities.
