Abstract

In this paper there will be discussed polite addressing forms in German and Swedish and the problem of their translation into Polish. There will be shown the main differences between the discussed languages in the range of usage of these language forms as the main factors entailing these problems in translation. Moreover, various kinds of means (linguistic and non‑linguistic), which enable translators to solve faster or more effectively the problems arising in the process of translation of polite addressing forms, will be presented.
