Abstrakt

Współcześnie rosnąca populacja starzejących się osób z długotrwałą niepełnosprawnością stanowi wyzwanie dla badaczy i praktyków, gdyż stanowi grupę o specyficznych cechach i potrzebach wynikających ze specyfiki obydwu zjawisk. Nie jest to jednak prosta suma ich cech, ale skomplikowany i niejednoznaczny konglomerat o niejasnych granicach i uwarunkowaniach. Stąd w artykule skupiono się na omówieniu charakterystycznych cech starzenia się osób z długotrwałą niepełnosprawnością nabytą z punktu widzenia fizycznego i psychospołecznego funkcjonowania. Perspektywa temporalna jest punktem wyjścia do uzasadnienia potrzeby badań nad zjawiskiem starzenia się osób z długotrwałą niepełnosprawnością nabytą.
