Abstract

In the article the author analyzes musical transpositions of the biography and works of Bruno Schulz from the earliest compositions in the 1960s and contemporary operas, songs, and shows. She emphasizes the sound potential of Schulz’s prose and the role of cultural memory in continuing his public presence. Thanks to many artistic adaptations, Schulz has now achieved worldwide renown while his works continually resonate in various musical idioms.
