Abstract

In the paper the author undertakes the reflection on the thought of Bergson in the context of certain pedagogical issues. Henri Bergson was a French philosopher, included in the current of philosophy of life or philosophy of spirit. We know him as a philosopher, some describe his philosophy as the last metaphysical theory of the reality. However, Bergson worked for seventeen years as a teacher of philosophy in state high schools. There are four interesting lectures for his pupils bequeathed from this period. As a professor at Collège de France he spoke out on pedagogical topics in public. Essential pedagogical issues appear also in his main philosophical books. The author of the article wants to show that Bergson’s thinking is still living and inspiring, and his intuition on general education is extremely significant.
