Drohobych Is Everywhere. Bogdan Konopka and His Photographs

It is not necessary to go to Drohobych to see it. Drohobych, the Drohobych of Schulz, is everywhere – just look at the world through Schulz’s eyes. For more than forty years, Bogdan Konopka has been taking photographs of the world from Schulz’s perspective. Yet, they are neither inspired by Schulz’s stories nor constitute their illustrative material. The photographer follows a parallel path that is indeed a path of his own. Paradoxically, Shulz’s stories become a guide to the world photographed by Konopka and make us understand his works better.
