Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

General requirements

 

  1. Original, previously unpublished papers written in Polish Russian or English, prepared in accordance with publication ethics, are accepted for publication.
  2. Submitted papers should not exceed a total of 80,000 keystrokes (characters and spaces), i.e. approximately 40 pages.
  3. Only texts corresponding to the journal aims and scope are qualified for the review process.
  4. Sending the text for review is considered equivalent to the author’s declaration that:
    • a) the text was not sent to another journal and was not previously published;
    • b) the text is an original work of the author;
    • c) the author does not infringe the copyright of third parties;
    • d) the text does not conceal information about people or institutions that contributed to its emergence or to the presented research;
    • e) the text does not conceal information on sources of research funding by individuals, institutions, domestic and foreign organizations.
  5. In case of co-authorship of the text, please indicate the contribution of each author.

 

Requirements

 

Texts (only in doc/ docx formats) should be sent by e-mail to the editorial office: katarzyna.wojan@ug.edu.pl; zanna.sladkiewicz@ug.edu.pl

  1. Text structure:
    • a) title of the paper;
    • b) the name and surname of the author (in the case of Russian authors – do not indicate the middle name);
    • c) affiliation of the author, postal address (institution, unit, street, number, city, number with code, country);
    • d) contact details - e-mail address;
    • e) ORCID;
    • f) date of receiving and acceptance of the text;
    • g) title and abstract in English;
    • h) keywords in English;
    • i) title and abstract in Russian or Polish;
    • j) keywords in Polish or Russian;
    • k) an epigraph is allowed;
    • l) body text;
    • m) bibliography;
    • n) possible words of thanks and dedication in a footnote.
  2. Information about the author and their most important publications should be submitted in a separate file.

 

Technical requirements (form)

  1. Preferred text editor Word. Mandatory font: Times New Roman, font size - 12; line spacing - 1.5.
  2. Page margins (top, bottom, right, left): 2.5 cm.
  3. Title of the paper, name and surname of the author: font 14 (in bold, center); The title should not be too long.
  4. Affiliation, address, contact: font 11 (center).
  5. Date the text was sent in brackets, semicolon, font 11 (center).
  6. Abstract (separated by a double interval from the previous section) 600 characters maximum (with spaces).
  7. Keywords: 5 to 7 keywords, separated by commas, without a dot at the end; font: 12.
  8. The main text: font 12. Possible epigraph preceding the text: font 11 (align to the right).
  9. You can enter subheadings (without numbering), bold font 12 (left justification).
  10. Footnotes at the bottom of the page (automatically numbered) may contain only author’s comments on the content of the main text (not bibliographic references); font 10, line spacing.
  11. In the footnotes words of thanks and dedications are possible.
  12. In the text you can use the following: italics, for example, in foreign words; however, underlining is not permitted.
  13. Italics should be used for the names of books and articles cited (in text and bibliography).
  14. Quotation marks – according to the language of the paper.
  15. Quotations are enclosed in quotation marks (without italics). Quotes of more than three lines are distinguished: on the left - 1.25; font 11; line spacing - 1.5 (without quotes). Quotes in foreign languages should not be translated.
  16. Omitted fragments are indicated by ellipsis in parentheses (...). All copyright comments are placed in the same brackets.
  17. The text uses half-pauses (for example, 1990–2005, p. 53–68) and a hyphen (for example, Polish-Russian).
  18. In the Polish text, at the first mention of the name of the researcher, the full name with the surname is used, then in the text only the surname (without initials). In the Russian text, the initials of the name and patronymic are allowed at the first mention of the researcher.
  19. All tables and figures should be accompanied by a description and source; font 11.
  20. References in the text are given in parentheses, for example, (Wojan 2018: 34–35).
  21. Bibliography at the end of the text: name in bold (Bibliografia / Bibliography), font 12 (left justification).

 

Footnotes

  1. Footnotes are included in the main text (without the transliterated variant) according to the following convention:
    • (surname year of publication: pages), e.g. (Wojan 2011: 35–26)
    • (name year of publication: volume: pages), e.g. (Карамзин 1984: 1: 21–28)
    • (title year of publication: pages). e.g. (Bibliographic dictionary ... 2003: 73)
  2. References to several sources:
    • (name year of publication: pages; title year of publication: pages; name of year of publication, pages), e.g. (Wojan 2010: 44; Bibliographic Dictionary ... 2003: 73)
  3. Internet sources:
    • (name, online), e.g. (Kress, online)

 

References

  1. There is one type of bibliography entry - in APA format.
  2. The order of bibliographic entries - alphabetical, according to the authors’ surnames or collective work titles.
  3. Numbering shall not be used.
  4. The works of a given author published in the same year are marked with consecutive letters of the alphabet (e.g. Wojan 2010a; Wojan 2010b).
  5. Bibliographic entries written in Cyrillic should have a transliterated variant in accordance with PN-ISO 9: 2000 guidelines. Transliteration is done automatically at https://www.ushuaia.pl/transliterate/ (it is recommended to check whether the PN-ISO 9: 2000 system has been selected). Cyrillic notation is placed after the transliterated notation in square brackets.
  6. For articles, provide the DOI number (if available).
