Abstract

The article discusses a book by the Venerable Nilus the Myrrhgusher of Lavra of Mount Athos, titled Posthumous Instructions and Prophecies, translated and edited by Grzegorz Ojcewicz (2023) with an afterword by Jarosław Moskalik. The Polish translation is based on a “modernized” translation into Russian from the Greek manuscript titled Посмертные вещания преподобного Нила Mироточивого Афонского (Zhytomyr 2002). The author addresses, among other things, the use of investigative philology as a research methodology in the process of collecting and interpreting source material.
