Abstrakt

In the language etiquette of plays by Jan Karnowski (titled Zôpis Mscëwoja, Libùsza, Ôtrok Światowida, Kaszëbi p ö d Widnà, Wesele kaszubskie, Scynanié kani and Czórlińsczi.) the references to God are present in two different manners. The references frequently result from the use of expressions which are present in the Kashubian etiquette, contemporary with the author, and whose component is the noun (Ρόη) Bóg meaning God. This concerns mainly the farewell expressions such as ostań z Bôgà, bàdz(ta) z Bôgàjedz(kôj) (le) z Bôgàjachôjta z Bôgà, as well as the gratitude formulas such as (Pôn) Bôg (wôm) zapłać, Boże zapłacę. The greeting expressions Niech bàdze (mdze) pôchwôlony and Pôchwôlony are also of religious nature. The second type of references to God in the language etiquette of characters of plays by Karnowski is related to the fact that in the selected expressions of Kashubian etiquette the terms naming the Christian God are exchanged for names of gods present in other religions, e.g. Niechże Światowid wama i пата bezpiek daje, Niech nom szczescy Biôli Bóg: Jedz z Allacha.
